Hypnotherapy for Claustrophobia Kent
Many people suffer with claustrophobia in one form or another, but usually it is very mild and does not affect their life to any great degree . For example , many people do not particularly enjoy lifts. However, would it stop them getting into a lift if it was the only way they could get to that meeting/interview/restaurant they wanted to go to? Probably not . However, when somebody suffers from full blow claustrophobia, it can take over and completely limit everything they do in their life. My Hypnotherapy for Claustrophobia course of treatment can give you the tools you need to help get you back to living a normal life.*
Claustrophobia explained
Claustrophobia is an irrational fear of confined spaces, and people that suffer with claustrophobia will go out of their way to avoid situations where they find themselves in confined spaces such as lifts, tube stations, aeroplanes, hotel rooms with sealed windows, tunnels, traffic jams, car washes, cars with central locking, public toilets, revolving doors, hospital scanning machines, buses, cinemas, discos.
Some people may only fear one of the above situations, and therefore manage to lead a fairly normal life whilst still avoiding the situation they fear. However, many people with full blown claustrophobia will fear all or most of the above situations which ends up seriously limiting their life, and making their life so much more difficult than it needs to be.
For example, somebody that fears using public transport may find that it is difficult to find a job within walking distance of home, and if they cannot afford a car or live in a big city where parking is a problem, they may find that their job opportunities are seriously limited.
Hypnotherapy for Claustrophobia – how I can help you ?
Here at Do Hypnosis Kent I can help you overcome your claustrophobic responses ,your anxiety and fear of confined spaces using advanced hypnotherapeutic techniques.*
I will use techniques which help de-sensitise the fear response in the part of your brain called the Amygdala.* By de-sensitising this fear, the response to non-threatening situations is no longer irrational. The Hippocampus which is the part of the brain that makes sense of feelings and compartmentalises these feelings and emotions in the correct way takes over and your reactions to situations start to become normal.*
I will also accompany and support you on your first journey of self discovery of living a claustrophobic free life, so that by the time you leave therapy with me there should be no fear of going into claustrophobic situations in the future.* This will be a situation that we agree upon together. It could be getting into a lift, crossing the Dartford Bridge, travelling on a train, or attending the cinema. Your first journey into normal life will be fully supported by me as part of the course of therapy.*
To help manage, a minimum course of four sessions will be required. Sometimes in more complicated cases it can take up to six sessions.
